However, as we delve into the sacred scriptures, we discover a profound truth that resonates through the ages – “Why do we worry when God is with you?”
Bible Text:
Let us begin our journey by turning to the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 25-34, where Jesus imparts timeless wisdom to His followers:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

He invites us to observe the birds of the air and the flowers of the field, which neither toil nor spin, yet are provided for by our loving heavenly Father. If God cares for them, how much more does He care for His children?

Trust in God’s Provision: Jesus reminds us that God knows our needs even before we ask. By seeking first His kingdom and righteousness, we align ourselves with His divine plan. Let go of the worries about what you will eat, drink, or wear, for God promises to provide for His faithful.
Embrace the Present Moment: Worry often stems from apprehensions about the future. However, Jesus encourages us to focus on today and not be consumed by concerns about tomorrow. Each day has its own challenges, and God’s grace is sufficient for each one.
Strengthen Your Faith: When Jesus mentions “you of little faith,” He highlights the importance of trust. Faith is the antidote to worry. As Christians, our faith in God’s unwavering love and care should outweigh our anxieties.
Prioritize Spiritual Growth: Seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness should be our foremost pursuit. When we prioritize our relationship with Him, we align ourselves with His will, and in turn, He takes care of our earthly needs.
Be Free from the World’s Pressure: The world often pressures us to accumulate wealth and possessions as measures of success. Jesus teaches us to break free from these worldly expectations and find contentment in our Father’s provision.
In conclusion, my fellow Christians, the words of Jesus are a beacon of hope in a world filled with worries. Let us remember that our heavenly Father knows our needs and cares for us deeply. As we seek His kingdom and righteousness, let our faith be our shield against anxiety, and may the question, “Why do we worry when God is with you?” guide us toward a life filled with peace and trust in His divine providence.
