Ezekiel was a prophet who lived during the time of the Babylonian exile. God called him to proclaim His message of judgment and restoration to the people of Israel who had strayed away from their covenant with Him. The book of Ezekiel is a record of his visions, prophecies, and symbolic acts, which serve as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and His desire for His people to turn back to Him.

In Ezekiel chapter 9, we witness a dramatic vision that depicts a scene of divine judgment upon the city of Jerusalem. The Lord commands a group of angels to go through the city and put a mark on the foreheads of those who sigh and groan over the abominations committed in its midst. These marked individuals would be spared from the impending destruction that was about to come upon the city.
