Sermon On Moses And God’s Plan Forhim

Introduction:

Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, I want to talk to you about a man who played a pivotal role in the history of Israel – Moses. Moses was a great prophet who God had chosen to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. In this sermon, I will be discussing God’s plan for Moses, and how it relates to our lives today.

Moses and God’s Plan:

Moses was born during a time when the Pharaoh of Egypt had ordered the killing of all Hebrew baby boys. However, his mother saved him by placing him in a basket and floating him down the Nile River, where he was found by the Pharaoh’s daughter and raised as her own. Despite being raised as an Egyptian, Moses always knew that he was a Hebrew.

One day, while Moses was out tending to his sheep, he saw a burning bush. As he approached the bush, he heard the voice of God speaking to him. God told Moses that he had been chosen to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and into the Promised Land. At first, Moses was hesitant and unsure if he was the right person for the job. But God assured him that he would be with him every step of the way.

God gave Moses specific instructions on how to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He sent ten plagues upon the Egyptians to convince Pharaoh to release the Israelites, and he parted the Red Sea to allow them to escape. Moses also received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai, which became the foundation for the Israelites’ laws and way of life.

Despite the challenges that Moses faced, he remained faithful to God and trusted in His plan. He led the Israelites through the wilderness for forty years, providing them with food and water along the way. He also taught them about God’s laws and helped them to maintain their faith in God.

Lessons from Moses’ Life:

Moses’ life teaches us several important lessons that we can apply to our lives today. First and foremost, Moses teaches us that God has a plan for each and every one of us. Just like how God chose Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, God has a unique plan for our lives as well. It is up to us to listen to God’s voice and trust in His plan, even when we may not understand it.

Secondly, Moses teaches us about the importance of faith and obedience. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles, Moses remained faithful to God and followed His instructions. Moses’ faith in God allowed him to overcome seemingly impossible situations, such as parting the Red Sea. We too must have faith and trust in God, even when we face difficult circumstances.

Finally, Moses teaches us about the power of perseverance. Leading the Israelites through the wilderness for forty years was no easy feat, but Moses never gave up. He continued to lead and guide the Israelites, even when they complained and rebelled against him. Moses’ perseverance allowed him to fulfill God’s plan for him and lead the Israelites to the Promised Land.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, Moses’ life serves as an inspiration for all of us. His unwavering faith, obedience, and perseverance should motivate us to trust in God’s plan for our lives. Like Moses, we must be willing to listen to God’s voice and follow His instructions, even when it may not make sense to us. We must also have faith and trust in God, knowing that He is with us every step of the way. Let us strive to live our lives like Moses, always seeking to fulfill God’s plan for us. Amen.
