Pastoral vocation and duties

Pastoral vocation and duties has to do with the biblical teachings , pastoral cares and other responsibilities of shepherding the flock of God entrusted into the cares of a pastor which is meant to be carried out diligently and uncompromisingly by a pastor.Occasionally we hear about pastors who’s ministries crash and burn before fulfillment. A pastor once attended a retirement banquet for a man who served as a pastor and as an educator. When the litany of his professional accomplishments was read, the speaker noted that most of them occurred after he turned fifty.

In fact, during a “toast” portion of the program, someone mentioned that it appeared as though he had coasted until mid-life.
“During my first 25 professional years, “the honorees said in response to his toast, “I was just gaining momentum”.
He later used a car racing analogy to describe his life. Retirement is not the checkered flag indicateing the race is over; instead it is the time when I can lighten my load to travel faster. I am not retiring in order to cease working but so that I can focus attention on my real Passion of teaching, writing and preaching “(Fenton 9).

1. Is there any evidence that I am disengaging spirituality or emotionally from ministry? how

2. Have I seriously thought about leaving the ministry in the last 3 years? if so what issues Triggered the thoughts ?

3. In one sentence how would I describe the next chapter of my ministry?

4. Do I truly believe my most effective years are ahead of me?

To be continued
