Our team is to remind us, especially our women that God has bestowed us with numerous heritage with the sole responsibility of cherishing, preserving and the guiding them jealously to His glory and the blessing of our homes, the church and the world at large. It is clear that we live in a time and dispossession when modernization trends the war against our godly dispositions .
However, we must remember that though we are in the world, we must not be of the world.sisters, wives, and mothers come with the responsibility of being godly tools in building decent homes and society .
God has called us into these places and positions and to HIM alone we owe accountability. For it is jealousy guiding this godly gifts and positions that we are assured of our crown of Glory as the Lord remind us “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” (Revelations 3:11)
In this verse Jesus promises to “come soon,” which in this Greek context means something that will happen “quickly or suddenly,” not necessarily “a short time from now.” In the meantime, He urges the believers at Philadelphia to keep a firm grip on the truth and on their loyalty to Him. By doing so they would prohibit an enemy from grabbing their crown.
The Philadelphian believers would have been familiar with marathon races. To complete a marathon successfully, a runner had to adhere to strict discipline and abide by the rules governing the race. If he won the race, he would receive a crown as his reward. The apostle Paul understood that the Christian life is not a 100-yard dash but a marathon. Paul ran the race patiently, adhered to a strict disciplined and kept the rules. He ran to win and expected to receive an imperishable crown (see 1 Corinthians 9:24–26).
At the end of His life, Paul testified that he had finished the race and anticipated the crown of righteousness as a reward from the Lord, the righteous judge (2 Timothy 4:7–8). We, too, are running a marathon that requires discipline, diligence, and patient endurance. We must keep our eyes on Jesus and not be distracted.
To achieve this task we must tap into the good examples of our own mothers. we must also desired a purity of the Virgin Mary, the submissive disposition of Sarah, the faith and humility of Hannah , and the godly parenting of Lois and Eunice .it is a fact that children do not behave too much differently from what they see and observe at home. We, the women have all it takes to shape future of the next generation.
Heaven is counting on us. Therefore in these days of several destructions, we call on all our women in general and our mothers in particular, to take to heart this injunction “You beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unveiling beauty of a gentle and quiet Spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves .They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah who opened Abraham and called him her Lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and you do not give way to fear”. (1Peter chapter 3 :3-6).
we call on all our men and children to always encourage, Honour and support our women and their mothers as they strive to fulfill their God-given duty to God’s glory and the blessings of us all.
Upon completing the race successfully, we will receive the crown of righteousness.
