Nine Lessons and Carols, also known as the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols , is a service of Christian worship traditionally celebrated on or near Christmas Eve. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir
The 2022 Carol with nine lessons of the Diocese of Aba Ngwa North (Anglican communion) was held at St Silas Anglican church, Ayaba umueze , the Archdeaconry headquarters of Ngwa Archdeaconry.
The preacher, Rev. Alex Arimadu who admonished the congregation on the theme ” the reason for the season” stated that carol has a way of telling the story of Jesus and His coming.
In his admonition, he made us to understand the prophecy of prophet Isaiah concerning the birth of Jesus Christ, Savior of the world (Isa 7:14; 9:6) which is equally linked to the gospel of Jesus Christ as recorded in Luke chapter 1:28-31; Mathew chapter 1:20-23.
