Depend On A Dependable God This Month

Depend on God

Have you ever made a promise which you never fulfilled, even when it was not your intention to disappoint? I guess yes! we even disappoint ourselves, much less others. Therefore, we all need help from someone who does not disappoint; who is trustworthy and reliable.

We  are in time when we only need to depend on God for everything because the days are evil. We need to depend on Him for our family, work, ministry, and every other area of our lives.

To be dependable means to be capable of being depended on; it means to be worthy of trust; or reliable.

Dependable also means trustworthy, reliable, tried and true, safe, secure, or good. Our God is dependable; you can trust him and you can rely on Him for everything. He is Jehovah Shammah because He is present everywhere; we can look up to God because He is the Divine Helper, Creator, Providence, Security, Safety, Protective Provision , and Divine Constancy.
(Psalm 62: 1 – 12)

We can trust Him with all our heart (Prov. 3: 5) because He has promised He will never leave nor forsake us (Heb. 13: 5).

God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him we were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Things might not look the way they ought to be in our life last month, but if we remain dependent on Him this month, He will help us out.

In Gen. 21:1 – 2, the Bible says that “And Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken, for Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” It does not matter how things may look around us, our God will bring to pass all that He has promised us.

Isaiah 55:11 says His words will not return to Him void. Paul and Silas depended on God and He never failed them. How about Job, he lost everything, he still depended on God and He was restored.

Hannah depended on God and she received the miracle of a son.

Heb. 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Because of this, we can depend and trust on His promises in the scriptures.

Requirement for Depending on God:

1. Patience:The Bible says in Heb. 6:12 that we should not be slothful but be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Reasons why we need to depend on God.

1. He is our Shepherd (Ps. 23:1): The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. A good shepherd takes care of the sheep. “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters (v. 2).” The popular song says, “The Lord knows the way though the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow”

2. Our God is bigger than any other god: The presidents, judges, governors or bosses of this world cannot compare with our God. He is bigger than all.

3. God is our Rock: God is our fortress, God is our deliverer, God is our shield, God is our refuge and He is our savior. I Sam. 22:2-3 say “And he (David) said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.”

4. God is trustworthy, faithful and reliable: I Thess. 5:24 says “Faithful
is he that calleth you, who also will do it”

5. God is the vine; we are the branches (Jn. 15: 1). A branch that is removed from the vine cannot survive and neither can we if we are removed from God.

Remember There is no disappointment in Jesus
