Dear friends,
I greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is with great joy and gratitude that I write to you today, sharing a message of hope and reassurance: “Calm down, God is in control.” In these tumultuous times, it is easy to succumb to fear, worry, and anxiety. However, as believers, we have the privilege of standing firm in our faith and proclaiming the truth that our Heavenly Father is sovereign over all things.
The Bible, the infallible and timeless Word of God, serves as our guide and anchor in times of uncertainty. It is within its pages that we find countless instances of God’s faithfulness, providence, and power. From the very beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, to the present day, His control and authority have never wavered. Let us delve into the Scriptures and uncover the profound truth that will strengthen our faith and win souls for Christ.
In the book of Psalms, King David declares in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” These words resonate deeply with the challenges we face today. It is a divine call to calm our hearts, to quiet our souls, and to trust in the sovereignty of God. In moments of chaos and confusion, we must remember that God reigns supreme over every situation, every nation, and every individual. His plans and purposes will prevail.
The prophet Isaiah reminds us in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” These words are a source of great comfort. The world around us may be filled with turmoil, but as believers, we can rest assured in the knowledge that God is by our side. He is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. When we internalize this truth, our anxious hearts find peace, and our souls find rest.

He is able to transform the darkest of circumstances into avenues for His glory and our ultimate good. Dear friends, as we embrace the truth that God is in control, let us not keep this hope to ourselves. We have a mandate to share the good news of salvation with a world that is searching for answers, longing for peace, and desperately in need of the assurance that comes from knowing our Heavenly Father. In 1 Peter 3:15, we are exhorted to, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you carry. It is our responsibility as followers of Christ to spread the message of hope and assurance in God’s sovereignty.
In our interactions with others, whether they are friends, family members, colleagues, or strangers, let us embody the calmness and peace that comes from knowing God is in control. Let our actions, words, and attitudes reflect the trust we have in Him. As we navigate through life’s challenges, people around us will undoubtedly notice the difference in our demeanor. They may ask us what sets us apart, what gives us the strength to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.
This is the perfect opportunity for us to share the truth and love of Christ. We can point them to the Scriptures, showing them the promises of God and how He has faithfully guided His people throughout history. We can share personal testimonies of how God has worked in our lives, bringing peace in the midst of chaos, providing solutions where there seemed to be none, and giving us hope in times of despair.
The message of “Calm down, God is in control” is not meant to diminish the real struggles and challenges that people face. Life can be hard, and we all go through seasons of difficulty. However, as followers of Christ, we have a firm foundation to stand on. We have the assurance that no matter what we face, God is with us, working all things together for our good.
It is important to approach conversations with empathy and understanding. We must acknowledge the pain, fears, and doubts that others may be experiencing. We can share our own experiences of wrestling with doubt and how God has brought us through those seasons, strengthening our faith in the process. Instead, let us offer a listening ear and a compassionate heart, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us in speaking the right words at the right time.
Furthermore, we should consistently pray for those we encounter. Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us directly to the heart of God. We can intercede on behalf of others, asking for God’s peace, wisdom, and guidance to be poured out upon them. Through prayer, we invite the Holy Spirit to work in their lives, opening their hearts and minds to the truth of God’s sovereignty.
